NY Giants v New England – Daniel Into The Proverbial Lions Den

NY Giants v New England – Daniel Into The Proverbial Lions Den

Thursday night football is upon us again and once again we have a game with a few angles. Firstly we have the little matter of history – The Giants have those two Super Bowl wins over the Patriots, and you can bet that still wrinkles with both Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, despite the fact that they are both need a second hand to display all their rings.

Then we have a rookie QB in Daniel Jones who after a brief honeymoon period, playing a couple of mediocre teams got a rude introduction to what life is like against a contender when you have no O-Line, no one to pass to and little in the way of a defense to lean on. He was sacked four times against the Vikings and was held to 182 yards passing and on a short week faces a road game against possibly the best defense in the NFL without his four main weapons Evan Engram, Wayne Gallman, Sterling Shepard & Saquon Barkley!

New England, on the other hand, have a few players questionable but only Philip Dorsett is definitely out so they are pretty much at full strength on defense. They are 5-0 and have only given up an average of 6.8 points per game and they are understandably 17 point favourites. Given that Bill & Tom will no doubt go all out in this one given the Super Bowl history, the big question here is probably not whether New England will win, or even will they cover the spread, but will the Giants actually get on the board?

Our view is that this could be a long night for Daniel Jones but he is mobile enough to at least get the Giants into Field Goal range at least once, but we really can’t see this ever being close.
