London Calling Part Two
Week six sees the second of the London games featuring an all NFC South clash as Carolina takes on Tampa. This is a pretty important game for both as they can’t risk letting the Saints get too far ahead in the title race. New England has already moved on to 6-0 and the only other unbeaten team will be hoping to keep that run alive as the 49ers travel to the Rams.
Four teams are still winless and all play this weekend, with the “Glamour tie” of the day being the hapless 0-5 Redskins travelling to the equally inept Dolphins. Barring a tie we will be down to no more than three no-win teams, but the loser of this one will be fancied to go 0-16 and win the race for the no one draft pick. However, the Bengals may still have something to say about this – but at least they can point to their injury list as an excuse instead of bad management.
Anyway joking aside the real glamour game on Sunday is the already mentioned West Coast match up between unbeaten San Fransisco and last years Super Bowl finalists The Rams, who have lost their last two. This features two of the leagues best up and coming QB’s and although it’s only week six it is sort of a must-win for the Rams. The other real Glamour game of the weekend has been reserved for Monday Night when one of the surprise teams of the season Detroit travels to Green Bay in a big NFC North clash. Given how strong that divisions looks neither will be happy if they lose this one.
The remaining no-win teams The Jets & Bengals will have their work cut out to get that first win given they face the Jets face the Cowboys who are smarting from last weeks home loss to Green Bay and know that they need this one as they have a really tough run-in ahead. The Bengals have not bee as awful as their record suggests but they will struggle to get a win until AJ Green returns.
