Cleveland Make Another Trade. This Time With The Chiefs

Another! Yes, that’s how it feels but you can’t help but be intrigued by what the Browns are doing this offseason. Having already pulled off the biggest trade of the year in adding Beckham & Vernon, they have now added Chiefs strong safety Eric Murray to their backfield in a player for player deal.

The player leaving is Emmanuel Ogbah a 1st round pick from 2016 and a pretty good player, who has become surplus due to the arrival of Vernon.  This was always on the cards but given that Ogbah had played pretty well he was somewhat miffed and had decided to skip the first day of voluntary workouts on Monday. Well, why risk getting injured showing up for a team who don’t want you any more.  Anyway, he has landed on his feet given the Chiefs should be competing for a Superbowl place again this year and despite the hype and weaker nature of the AFC North he has left a team which still has a lot to prove. Still, it makes sense for the Browns too as they have added a  nice bit of depth to their secondary in exchange for a player they no longer need. Given they have limited draft picks this year it does make sense.
