Week Six is upon us and this week most of the attention is on the AFC where the week’s games are headed by a rematch between the Bills & Chiefs. That should make up for what is likely to be another dismal Thursday night game to start the week.
Thursday Nights Game
Washington @ Chicago
Not one to get too excited about! Two struggling teams headed by QBs who might not be starters next year if they don’t show some improvement. Carson Wentz actually played ok last week despite what his coach said about him. It will be interesting to see how he reacts to effectively being told his days are numbered in Washington.
He is up against arguably the worst starting QB in the NFL currently Justin Fields. His stat line is not great and would be worse if it were not for the occasional big play. Still given he has little in the way of support on offense it’s hard to judge just how bad he is.
Last week’s Thursday Night Game was pretty dire and this one could be just as bad.
Prediction
Commanders 17 Bears 10
Sunday Early Games
The pick of the early games looks to be Tampa traveling to Pittsburgh, a team that Tom Brady is very familiar with from his Patriots days. Tampa has struggled a bit this season, however, they have been plagued with injuries and despite this Brady has still been putting up decent numbers. If the Steelers secondary is as bad this week as last he could have 400 yards plus.
Gren Bay had a disappointing trip to London last week and like the Buccs their offense is not clicking. Unlike Tampa though it’s down to inexperience and loss of talent. They have the other NY team this week and this is close to a must-win even at this early stage given the Vikings are looking good this year.
Predictions
San Francisco @ Atlanta
49ers 28 Falcons 24
New England @ Cleveland
Patriots 20 Browns 21
New York Jets @ Green Bay
Jets 14 Packers 26
Jacksonville @ Indianapolis
Jaguars 17 Colts 21
Minnesota @ Miami
Vikings 31 Dolphins 14
Cincinnati @ New Orleans
Bengals 27 Saints 21
Baltimore @ New York Giants
Ravens 28 Giants 20
Tampa Bay @ Pittsburgh
Buccs 31 Steelers 17
Sunday Late Games
This slot features the game of the week as the Bills travel to the Chiefs in a rematch of last season’s AFC Divisional Game. That was a thriller that was settled in OT and this one should be just as competitive.
The Panthers fired Matt Rhule in midweek, replacing him with Steve Wilks. Three of their four QBs on the roster are either on IR or questionable so it looks like Wilkes will start his career as head coach with PJ walker under center.
Predictions
Carolina @ LA Rams
Panthers 14 Rams 28
Arizona @ Seattle
Cardinals 27 Seahawks 24
Buffalo @ Kansas City
Bills 34 Chiefs 31
Sunday Night Game
Dallas @ Philadelphia
Both are coming off decent wins, with the Eagles gritting it out against Arizona and Dallas winning their fourth straight. The Cowboy’s win at the defending Superbowl Champions The Rams was very impressive even if it was largely down to the Dallas defense. If Philadelphia wins this one it will be their first 6-0 start since 2004.
Prediction
Cowboys 21 Eagles 27
Monday Night Football
Denver @ LA Chargers
An all-AFC West clash to end the week. Denver has lost their last two games and so far the Russell Wilson trade has not paid dividends. He is by no means certain to start Sunday due to a shoulder injury but whatever they can’t afford to drop too far back in what looks like the strongest division in the AFC this year.

Russell Wilson has so far not had the expected impact in Denver.

The Chargers have only really played one bad game so far and they will be hoping that Keenan Allen is fit again after missing the last four games. They still have that Charger’s propensity to make life hard for themselves but should take this one at home.
Prediction
Broncos 17 Chargers 21
So there we have it, a quick overview of the week Six games some great ones to look forward to, and a couple that you might want to skip unless you are a die-hard fan.
