Pubs are being missed terribly by us Brits, especially the cheap and cheerful pints you could get from the Wetherspoons chain.

And it seems one man missed the pub so much that he re-created his local Wetherspoons on the popular game Minecraft.

The man’s creation.

Jimmy McCullough is a team leader at a Wetherspoons branch, and has seemingly had a lot of extra time on his hands due to the Coronavirus pandemic – time he spent building a pub on Minecraft amongst other things. He got a lot of the details spot on, too, with the shades of brick and the balconies looking pretty spot on for a game that is primarily just blocks.

The Merseyside resident said: “Compared to how other people are having to deal with this situation, I have been OK.

“I’ve gone from working every other day to not having to worry about much at all! Gaming every night on the PC feels like I’m back in school. I try to keep myself active even though I’ve not left the house that much!”

He added: “I made a Minecraft version of the pub I work at – The Court Leet in Ormskirk. I’ve been trying to get as much detail as possible.”

The reactions online were great, with many people praising his efforts and noting how he got so many features “spot on”. People certainly enjoyed seeing the creation.

When asked why he decided to take on the task of creating his workplace in a game, Jamie explained: “At the start of lockdown I saw someone made a version of Baa Bar and Heebies – both clubs in Liverpool – in Minecraft.

“Then I thought, ‘With the free time on my hands, I could do the same with this pub I work at.'”

Free time well spent? I certainly think so, and viewers online seem to think so too. But, just like everyone else, Jamie is ready for normality to return so he can go back to work. He misses the cookie dough desert that spoons are well known for, he says, and he’s not the only one; I’m sure that’ll be my first order too when I go back!
