For nearly 4 months now, the UK has been in lockdown and has had the 2-meter rule in place, meaning no one can meet up and hug anyone at all. This has by far been the worst year for the UK and in fact, the whole world since everyone has been affected by this virus and will continue to for the foreseeable future until there is a cure and or vaccine created in the future. Strange to think that the UK has been in lockdown for 3 –  4  months and are only now seeing improvements to the rules and more.

The government has been facing calls from Tory backbenchers about dropping the 2-meter rule in England, meaning shops and other businesses will be dropping the 2-meter rule as well, allowing shoppers to enter all at once, putting everyone at risk of the virus once again. The government has said they are constantly reviewing the coronavirus lockdown guidelines and seeing if there is anything they can do to ease lockdown some more. The 2-meter rule right now is essential, if the UK didn’t have this rule, there could be more and more cases happening and the UK could face another few months of lockdown if this does happen.

Boris Johnson has said that a single person can go into another household and have a “bubble” with them, meaning they will be allowed to enter their house and forming a “bubble”. Some people believe decreasing the 2-meter rule can help drastically. Instead of 2 meters, some are saying have it as a 1 meter rule instead!
