With the rise in Covid-19 patients in hospital and those who get it and can just self isolate, the ones at risk are more at risk than ever. As of right now, no rules have been changed and Boris Johnson is hoping that the booster jabs will do the trick. So far, the UK is seeing a small decrease in cases but there is still over 100,000 cases a day and that is troubling the NHS staff and making every single NHS staff member overwhelmed with the amount of Covid-19 cases.

In the near future, Prime Minister Boris Johnson will more than likely enforce all old rules to try and combat the virus from getting more and more infectious, however, one thing the UK has learned is that the new variant, Omicron, is less likely to harm a lot of people. People who test positive for Covid-19 with this variant will more than likely have cold-like symptoms, however, this could change depending on age and health.

Lockdown is still an option that could happen in the UK, but this time around, they might implement some rules each week to see if there is any change, for example, no nightclubs open and a 2-meter rule… Then a week later, add more rules, until the lockdown is the last option!
