Due to this virus being deadly towards older people and care homes having to stay open due to the caring of older people in the world, the government have said they will start doing tests to the care home staff to ensure they don’t have coronavirus and won’t pass it on to those who are in need. The care homes are in need of more testing due to younger generations working there and could be passing the virus through the care home and having more and more people spreading the virus when they go home from there shift and or go straight to intensive care. This should of happened at the start and will be happening soon.

Heath Secretary Matt Hancock said that he was determined to make sure that everyone who needed a test has access to a test and places that need to test there staff, such as care homes, are able to do so in case of more spread. Care providers have been wanting this to happen for weeks on end by calling them asking for more tests to be run in care homes and even charities are saying the virus is getting out of control and the outbreak could hit care homes if we are not careful. So far, there has only been 5 residents that have been showing any signs of the virus and are going to get tested very soon.

Figures show that the virus is still spreading rapidly in the UK as we don’t know how many people in the UK has recovered from it as of yet, we know that Boris is one of those to recover from it, however we are getting more and more people infected everyday. The UK have overtaken China with the amount of cases and will continue to grow. The UK have slowed down but we have extended our lockdown by 3 weeks to ensure this virus doesn’t spread anymore.
