Its been another goal filled weekend in the Premier League, as Leicester head to the top of the table.
The game with the least goals this weekend was the Liverpool v Chelsea game, but thats not to say it wasn’t exciting. It was 0-0 until around the 50th minute, when Mane went on to score 2 goals in the space of 5 minutes. There were a number of attempts on goal in the game, with Chelsea even getting a penalty – which Allison saved.
Thiago, Liverpool’s new signing, neither impressed or unimpressed, coming on as a substitute and having an average game. Fabinho, however, was Van Dijks personal man of the match, and was seemingly everywhere on the pitch, putting in good tackles and controlling the play nicely. The match ended up 2-0 to Liverpool, with Chelsea fans questioning Kepa’s future at the club, after a number of mistakes in the game.
Leicester initially went 1-0 down to Burnley early in the game – it didn’t initially look good for Leicester. However, they ended up grabbing a goal back, after some sloppy Burnley defending.
A low cross in the box, and a touch from a defender trying to stop the cross, ended up in a quick own goal, to Leicester’s delight. Unfortunately for Burnley, this was the initial goal that put them behind.
A few goals later, Burnley slipped further behind, despite scoring another goal themselves. The match ended up 4-2 in Leicester’s favour, as they head to the top of the table on goal difference.
