In the first episode of Riverdale you are shown that the whole town standing around sweetie water river, as police are surrounded trying to do something but it becomes clear with the actor Cole Spouse who plays the role of Jughead being the narrator within the whole season.
Within in the first episode you are brought in with the drowning of one of the Blossoms twins called Jason Blossom, however as the season unravels the mystery of Jason drowning becomes a murder investigation. As Jason body comes up in the Sweet Water river with a bullet in head. 
However going away from the investigation you are shown what seems like a typical high school series which is full of love. In the first episode you’re introduced to Betty Cooper who has a crush on Archie Andrews. You see them in the Famous Pop’s which is over for 24 hours however when Betty trying to reveal her feeling towards Archie, a new face is brought into Riverdale and completely distracted by a girl called Veronica Lodge.
This season is full of plot twist and is very good at grabbing the audience attention and how all of the characters develop throughout the season. The show also shows much support to the LGBT community linking in people who are gay, bisexual and lesbian. In the first season Kevin is seen to have a boyfriend half way though season one, and with Kevin being one of the main characters. 
Season one of Riverdale was probably one of the best season to get you hooked one the story line however in season two and three, the story becomes more confusing however it still very interesting. I feel like season one was very good keeping an active and very interesting storyline. I would recommend it as a top watch if people are interested in murder investigation, teen romance and violence.
