On the 3rd of June, every year sees World Bicycle Day - supported by many organisations world bicycle day runs to help encourage physical exercise as well as a greener mode of Transport.
This day also celebrates Chimborazo Day the day where we focus on the shape of the earth. The day is named after mount Chimborazo, Ecuador, near the equator, which because of the shape of the Earth pokes out further into space than any other point on earth, even further than Mount Everest.
On June 3rd 1965 James McDivitt and Edward White made 66 orbits of Earth on the spare mission Gemini 4. White also took the first space walk by an American and manoeuvred for 20 minutes outside of the Capsule.
The Film 'Big' starring Tom Hanks was released on this day in 1988.
