The Miniature Schnauzer is known for being one of the smallest dogs in the three Schnauzer breeds. They are generally quite healthy and active dogs with a lot of needs. They live for a long time and don't shed as much as they look. This type of dog is ideal for a family rather than anything else. Stocky, robust little dogs standing 12 to 14 inches, Miniature Schnauzers were bred down from their larger cousins, Standard Schnauzers. They are very playful and caring dogs with a lot of energy.

History of this Dog Breed?
The Miniature Schnauzer were very handy back in the day, originating from Germany in the late 19th Century. They are descendants of the Affenpinscher and the standard schnauzer. In 1933 the miniature schnauzer was recognised as a separate breed from the standard schnauzer by the AKC. At one time the miniature schnauzer was the third most popular breed in America, and remains a favourite.
There is not much about this particular dog as they were only known to be bred from the 1900s and first bred in Germany.
