Your Childs Screen Use Isn’t As Much Of An Issue As You Thought

It has been revealed that there is little harm that can come of children using screens for multiple hours a day.

A leading paediatrician has said that parents are advised to worry less when it comes to how much time their child is spending in front of a screen. While the guidance avoids setting screen time limits, it recommends not using them in the hour before bedtime. Experts say it is important that the use of devices does not replace sleep, exercising and time with family

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health oversees the training of specialists in child medicine. They produced the guidance for under-18s. They said there is no such evidence that a lengthy amount of screen time is bad for your health, as is sometimes claimed.

But in contrast, the review of evidence found associations between higher screen use and obesity and depression.

This can be explained by simply looking at the symptoms of obesity and depression; they are less likely to be active and involved with outside activities so they occupy themselves with television or games. Essentially, they spend large amounts of time in front of screens because they’re depressed/obese, not because the screen time has made them that way.
