Throughout the Pandemic, one word came to play, one word that stopped a lot of businesses from getting any consumers, some businesses learned to work from home during it and some did well through it… Lockdown! The word that everyone hates during this pandemic.

Lockdown was everyone staying inside and not going to work unless it was essential. As well as travel, if there was no essential reason to go to the shop. One of the worst ways to stop a virus, however the best way at the same time.

Why did this work, however?

This worked due to the virus is being contained, meaning not much air, from those infected, being taken out into the work and spreading. Which resulted in three lockdowns having fewer and fewer cases overall. Nowadays they have scrapped all the rules and maybe even lockdown as nothing has been said about this even though there are over 100,000 cases again in the UK!

Why did it fail?

The reason this failed is quite simple. The virus is very contagious meaning this could have gone anywhere and everywhere as more and more people could get infected and meet thousands on their own travel. Therefore resulted in 4 waves of Covid-19 before the UK PM Boris Johnson decided to stop all restrictions.
