A study has found that the Coronavirus sweeping the world currently didn’t come from animals in the market.

The study suggests that the virus was already adapted for human transmission, and was brought to the market by humans somehow.

But, the research can’t go much further apparently. According to the Chinese researchers, the Wet market was so heavily disinfected and cleaned near the start of the outbreak, it’s virtually impossible to trace it any further back.

The study said that: ‘We were surprised to find that SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) resembles SARS-CoV in the late phase of the 2003 epidemic after SARS-CoV had developed several advantageous adaptations for human transmission.

‘Our observations suggest that by the time SARS-CoV-2 was first detected in late 2019, it was already pre-adapted to human transmission to an extent similar to late epidemic SARS-CoV.

‘However, no precursors or branches of evolution stemming from a less human-adapted SARS-CoV-2-like virus have been detected.

‘The sudden appearance of a highly infectious SARS-CoV-2 presents a major cause for concern that should motivate stronger international efforts to identify the source and prevent near future re-emergence.’

This just added to the overall debate to where the virus cane from; whether it was made in a lab, or originated naturally in the wild.

MP Bob Seely, a member of the Commons’ Foreign Affairs Select Committee said: ‘We need to get to the bottom of many things in relation to Covid-19.

‘We need to know where this virus began, why we were told at one time there was no human transmission, and what was the role of the Chinese Communist Party.’
