Recently, China started to get rid of the deadly virus known as Covid-19. They have been trying to get rid of this virus for some time now, however, things have changed during the last 2 years in China.
Before Covid-19 came back to China, this is where it started and the lockdown managed to improve the lives of everyone in China, as they were only managing to get 80 cases a day or less.
Nowadays, China is managing to get more than 1,000 cases a day which to the leaders of China, they have located where the cases are more coming from, therefore they have put Shanghai in lockdown as this is too much as they have been wanting to completely eradicate the virus from the country, which is proven to be very difficult.

China is now in lockdown after receiving another wave of Covid-19. This is due to the rise in cases and more soon to come unless this lockdown works a treat for them, last time this worked well anyway, however, Shanghai has seen another issue with the economy!
This lockdown in Shanghai has caused some businesses to lose out on money. As Mr. Xu says it;
“Lost business at retailers, hotels, and restaurants could directly cost Shanghai 3.7% of its annual Gross Domestic Product.”
