The rise in cases is no joke, the UK has seen more than 20,000 cases a day since they began opening up everything and allowing everyone to see there friends and family and allowing them to enter there homes. With this happening, creates a massive chance of cases rising, for the UK and Carlisle… That happened.
Carlisle has seen a massive spike since the virus started to begin yet again. The second wave has caused a lot of places to go into tier 2 and 3 local lockdown and Carlisle could be the next city in the UK to go into local lockdown.
Barrow is still the highest in infection rates with 261 cases per 100,000 people and Carlisle are not far behind with 229.1 cases per 100,000 cases.
Mr Cox said that the rate of infection in the city is rising above the national level and that the country was on the beginning of a second wave. With this in mind, should the UK go into full lockdown again?
Moving Carlisle into tier 2 would mean that people are prohibited from socialising with anybody outside there own household or support bubble, Business and venues can still operate and pubs and restaurants will still be open but must shut at 10pm, schools and university’s will remain open, no more than 6 people and weddings and funerals will stay the same.
If cases continue to rise in Carlisle, then tier 2 lockdown will be happening.
