On the 17th March 2019, Chelsea went up against Everton. For some Chelsea fans they thought this would be an easy game, however this didn’t end well for Chelsea and the fans, since they lost 2-0. This was so unexpected. Everton are currently 11th in the League and weren’t seeming like they could get into the Europa League or Champions League, however Chelsea are the team who everyone expected to be winning this game and trying to get into the top 4, so they can get back into the Champions League! Chelsea are currently 3 points behind 4th place and 1 point behind 5th, so they need to do something special if they are wanting to go into the Champions League this year. Everton however are looking to get into the top 10! So, a lot of fans would predict Chelsea would win the match… didn’t end well!
The first half ended 0-0, with Chelsea being on the attack for most of the match, with a few chances from Higuin and Hazard, however only 4 minutes into the second half, Richarlison scores! The Brazilian man that many thoughts wasn’t worth £50 million scores a crucial goal for them! The second goal came from Sigurosson in the 72nd minute. The stats suggest that Chelsea had the ball the most but, didn’t produce any good chances with it. Chelsea had 68% possession and only 5 shots out of 17 on target, as for Everton, they had 32% possession and 8 shots out of 15 on target. Consistence! Everton deserved the win and Chelsea look like they’re not going to the Champions league or Europa League next season!
