One of Liverpool’s former best players has returned to the Premier League after a nightmare performance in Barcelona. Former Liverpool attacker Philippe Coutinho has returned to the Premier League but has not returned to Liverpool. He has signed a loan deal with Aston Villa, hoping to gain the form he had back at Liverpool in 2013. At the time, he was a world class footballer and Liverpool’s first team player.
During his spell at Liverpool, the fans loved him. He was the best player at Liverpool and then did a shock move to Barcelona. After this he lost his form and his footballing career went from “a dream” to a nightmare. He couldn’t get his form back and was stuck in the shadow of his Liverpool career, however now he has returned to England for the rest of the season with Aston Villa. This also means that he will return to his former colleague Steven Gerrard!
His move to Aston Villa came as a shock to most of the football world, however this could revive Coutinho’s career and make him become world class once again.
After he left Liverpool in 2018, Jurgen Klopp said;
“It is with great reluctance that we – as a team and club – prepare to say farewell to a good friend, a wonderful person and a fantastic player in Coutinho, The relationship we have for him means with a heavy heart we wish him well.”
Showing his respect to the player after he performed so well for them, will he show a good run of form with Aston Villa?
