Robbie Williams and Ayda Field quit X Factor

Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field will not be judging panel for the next X Factor.

The former Take That singer took to Instagram to announce they will no longer be taking part this year after they joined the show last year. However, Williams said they would both still work with Simon Cowell on other projects.

A quick update from Team Williams… it’s been a very busy year so far. Vegas has been incredible and we cannot wait for June and July to do it all again. I’ve got the massive @BSTHydePark show on July 14 and I’ve written the lyrics and music for the #RSCBoyInDress show with @guyachambers – opening on November 8. As well as all this we’ve got some very big announcements coming soon – but we can’t reveal all yet. Sadly though it’s impossible to do everything … and we’re gutted to tell you we won’t be able to return to The X Factor this year. We will, however, be working on projects with Simon going forward – and as huge fans of the show, we will still be tuning into The X Factor, voting and winding Simon up…x

Fans of X Factor were worried last year about the US TV actress’ lack of experience in the music industry. However at the launch of the 15 series, Simon said: “Ayda has been a revelation. I mean, seriously, she’s been brilliant.”

He also explained how you did not have to be an artist or music manager to be on the show, “You have to have taste, good instincts, you have got to like people,”.

Simon added: “Ayda has seen the music business from a different point of view so she brings a different perspective to the panel. I think she’s amazing.”
