The documentary Blackfish which you can buy in store or watch on Netflix. It about one of America beloved aquariums known as Sea World, and why trainers are no longer allowed in the water with the Killer whales. The documentary goes though the whole past of Sea World to what it used to be to what it is now.
It tends to focus on the famous male Orca Tilikum who is known as Shamu. It shows that there was many incident before the Dawn Brancheau, who was the last trainer killed while in the water with Killer whales in Sea World. She was known as one of the best trainers in sea world and when the course case came into play they blamed Dawn for the reason she died and other trainers at the park were disgusted as Dawn wasn’t there to defend herself.
However before that there have been many incident with Tilikum and they have been hidden from peoples eyes and many people didn’t know about. Tilikum is known for have a violent pass when it comes to trainers however the owners of Sea World say that the trainers either did something wrong or the whale was just playing. On the other hand many trainer guess that the whale is frustrated and doesn’t want to be kept in a small pool when they’re used to travelling 100 miles a day.
It even went in to dept about how the whales were captured, they made people separate the babies from the whales mothers and make they’re own group within the park but that was never good. If the whales died during the capture they were told to cut open there stomach put stones in them and tie and anchor to their talk and skin them to the bottom of the sea. After states found out about this many banned whale capturing in the states.
