Man arrested over selling fake opioids to Mac Miller

A man has been arrested on charges he sold counterfeit opioid pills to rapper Mac Miller two days before he died of an overdose. Cameron James Pettit is accused of providing Miller with counterfeit oxycodone pills which had powerful opioid fentanyl in.

On September 7th 2018, Miller was found dead by his assistant in his home in Los Angeles. A post Mortem discovered that he died from an accidental overdose via a combination of fentanyl, cocaine and alcohol.

Miller was open about his issue with alcohol and drug abuse, addiction was the theme of his final album.

Authorities said they had found drugs which are believed to be from Pettit in Miller’s home and there was evidence the rapper had used some. Pettit has only been charged with providing the drugs, however he has not been charged with having a role in Miller’s death. Pettit could be facing a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
