20th June - On this Day

What does the 20th June have to offer, well on this day...

This day marks World Refugee Day, a day to bring attention to the situation of refugees, their rights, as well as their suffering. First observed on June 20, 2001, the 50th anniversary of the 1951 Convention on the Status of Refugees.

On this day in 1895, Caroline Willard Baldwin became the first woman to earn a doctor of science degree, at Cornell University.
