What land was lost in the Treaty of Versailles
  • Alsace and Lorraine restored to France
  • Eupen and Maledy given to Belgium
  • North Schlewig given to Denmark
  • The coalminers in the Saar Valley were given to France for 15 years
  • All land taken from Russia by Germany in 1918 was returned. Some of the land was used to create new nations such as Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland.
  • The ‘ Polish corridor’ was given to Poland giving them access to the sea.
  • Upper Silesia was divided between Germany and Poland.
  • All Germany’s  colonies were surrendered and given to the victorious powers as mandates by the League of nation
