Unconfirmed reports are circulating that an altercation in a hotel led to multiple people being stabbed. A team of armed police have been deployed, and paramedics in protective gear have been seen treating a patient in the street, surrounded by blood.

Witnesses said they saw injured and bloody people being carries on stretchers away from the Park Inn hotel, Glasgow.

Louisa, a witness who was walking along West George Street, reportedly said: “I saw people being treated with blood on the ground.

“I saw people running out of the hotel with the police shouting ‘put your hands up, put your hands up, come out’.

“There were police cars, ambulances all over the street and they cordoned it off. Police were shouting to people in other buildings near the Park Inn hotel to stay inside and not come into the street.

“I saw at least three people injured and they were taken away in ambulances.

“There were quite a number of people coming out with their hands up, running down the steps of the hotel.”

Since then a police officer has said that there is no further threat to anyone in the area, as the incident has been contained. The road, however, has been closed by police and the council, whilst they figure out exactly what went on and carry out some jobs.

The council released a statement recently saying: “Due to a serious police incident the following roads are currently closed until further notice.

“West George Street – between Hope Street and West Nile Street.

“Renfield Street – between West Regent Street and St Vincent Street.

“Renfield Street traffic is being diverted onto West Nile Street and road users should avoid the area if possible.”
