Lockdown has been going on for a while now, the reasoning being that the virus is still not slowing down as much as the UK think it should be. 6,000+ more cases yesterday (06/05/2020) and over 600 deaths once again. Right now, the virus is going up and down and no one knows if it’ll be safe to ease lockdown or not, due to the virus still spreading. Covid-19 is needing to be stopped before any measures are in place, however it is said that the PM is wanting to ease it down to restart the economy!
Coronavirus has taken over 250,000 lives, lockdown was slowing the virus down, but Boris Johnson needs to review the virus by law, due to the law saying he must review every 3 weeks, and Thursday marks the deadline. The Stay at Home message is said to be scarped due to the PM wanting and keen on restarting the economy. The options will be discussed by everyone in the room. Some people may think this is too early and we should wait a little bit longer for the virus to be stopped and done with, however the PM might say something different on Thursday. The economy has suffered a lot since this lockdown and Boris Johnson will be wanting to restart it.
Currently, we have seen a fall in the amount of cases the UK has had since the lockdown has been put in place, however more people are still getting infected each day and from this, we could be in lockdown for a little bit longer. Boris has even said that we could be seeing some measures start to ease by Monday! “We want, if we possibly can, to get going with some of these measures on Monday, It would be a good thing if the people had an idea of what’s coming the following day, that’s why I think Sunday, the weekend, is the best time to do it.” Boris Johnson said.
