Nottingham is currently in tier 3, which means no amount of people can mix indoors with other households.

An unnamed 20 year old, who is believed to have organised the “illegal” gathering, could be fined up to £10,000.

Police arrived at the premises at around 12:30am, and some guests were even fined £200 for breaching the governments COVID-19 guidelines.

A 19 year old was also charged with obstructing police, and is set to appear at court early next year. They were also among the few fined £200.

The host could be given the maximum fine, and has been reported for summons.

Insp Amy English, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “It is deeply disappointing that so many people decided to disobey the rules on this occasion and increase the risk of transmission of this deadly virus.

“The very last thing we want to be doing as police officers is to be punishing people for gathering together and having fun but there really are no excuses for this kind of behaviour where people are blatantly ignoring rules in such large numbers.”
