The police are trying to ensure that all the disabled spots are there when they need them, as a lot of people do end up just taking them. There has been a situation in Wales where a woman has been fined over £1000 for parking in a disabled spot.

A woman by the name of Cerys Gemma, who lives in Cardiff Bay, has been fined over £1000 for parking in a disabled spot. There is a spot was allocated to her as she is allowed to use it as it’s next to her flat.

Instead, she was using the allocated disabled parking spaces which are typically reserved for guests. New Generation Parking Management, which manages the bays said the spaces have to be kept free for disabled visitors, not residents, which means that the fine was given due to her using the allocated spot for visitors.

The only issue is, that the parking spot that she has is inaccessible, which is making things harder for her, meaning she should be able to use that one spot.

34-year-old Ms. Gemma said she cannot use the space allocated to her waterside flat in Prospect Place.

“This has plagued me for two years and I just can’t go on like this.

“I’m at breaking point and I’ve had conversations with people, and I’ve said this is the end, because I can’t do this anymore – something has to change.

“I’m not willing to be pushed out of my home because I’m in a wheelchair,” said Cerys Gemma!
