Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher has said he refuses to wear a face mask in the UK, despite it being a mandatory part of being out and about nowadays.

Wearing a mask on public transport and in shops is mandatory due to the coronavirus pandemic, yet Noel refuses to wear one, despite being challenged by multiple members of the public.

Speaking on The Matt Morgan podcast, said that wearing face coverings in shops but not pubs and restaurants “bull****”, adding that: “It’s not a law. There’s too many fu***ng liberties being taken away from us now.”

He continued: “I was going up to Manchester the other week and some guy’s going ‘can you put your mask on, on the train, because the transport police will get on and fine you £1,000. But you don’t have to put it on if you’re eating’.”

“So I was saying, ‘Oh right, this killer virus that’s sweeping through the train is going to come and attack me but it’s going to see me having a sandwich and go leave him, he’s having his lunch?'”

The WHO, who is on the forefront of research, have said themselves that face masks are an important measure people should take, as collectively we can fight the virus by wearing them.

But Noel added: “I choose not to wear one and if I get the virus it’s on me, it’s not on anyone else. If every other c**** wearing a mask I’m not going to catch it off them, and if I’ve got it then they’re not going to catch it off me. I think it’s a p*take. There’s no need for it.”

He concluded by saying that the science behind it is pointless – which, from what you see online, is possibly becoming an increasingly popular opinion.

Scientists in the US recently concluded that masks were possibly one of the most effective ways to stop the virus spreading.

Noels brother, on the other hand, agrees that they’re uncomfortable, but wearing them has “gotta be done”.

Twitter users have expressed their disappointment with Noels opinions, but it doesn’t seem like he’s going to change his ways any time soon – because as seen with Oasis, he can be quite a stubborn person.
