The foreign secretary Dominic Raab has said that there will be no pubs, barbers or “sit in” restaurants opening until July at the earliest.

This comes as the PM announced a sort of roadmap out of lockdown last night. It’s also been encouraged for people to go back to work this week if they can’t work from home. Those who can work from home however, are still being advised to work from their house.

By June 1st, some shops will hopefully be re-opening, and primary school children will probably be the first to go back to school. More of this will be announced later today as a comprehensive paper will be released detailing everything.

But remember, all of this is subjective to the rate of transmission, and if cases start to rise again, these things can be easily pushed back to a later date.

“From 4 July, at the earliest, we’ll look at other sectors and that will include hospitality, but it will also include personal care and people like hairdressers,” Raab said.

“Obviously the proximity in those two sectors… is something where we don’t think we’re ready yet, given where we are with the virus.”

And as mentioned before, he also mentioned that the a government wanted to “get all primary school children back into school within a month of the end of the summer term”.

Despite social distancing measures still being in place, the government is actually still looking into letting family members from other households meet for limited contact, likely in a park or public place.

“We’ve asked the scientists to look at whether there could be some limited contact between, say, two different households within the same family, for example, we’ve asked them to give us some advice on what that would do to the transmission rate,” the foreign secretary said.

“Until we’ve got that advice back, we’re not in a position to say ‘yes you can positively do that’, but it is something we want to look at.”H

But for now, we’ve just got to enjoy the new privileges we’ve got, such as being able to go out and play sport and exercise for unlimited amounts of time. These measures aren’t in effect until Wednesday, though, so make sure you stick to the current rules until then.
