EasyJet has recently had to cancel a lot of their flights due to staff absences, this is due to the Covid-19 pandemic that is currently happening, and or due to Covid-19 in general as this may not be considered a pandemic anymore.
Covid-19 has increased during the past month, after all, rules have been removed, the UK has seen a massive increase in cases, and in-hospital cases as well. An EasyJet spokesman said;
“As a result of the current high rates of Covid infections across Europe, like all businesses, easyJet is experiencing higher than usual levels of employee sickness, Unfortunately it has been necessary to make some additional cancellations for today and tomorrow. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”
EasyJet, known as one of the biggest airlines in Europe has said that the cancellations were a small part of its Monday’s Schedule, however, this is now around 1,645 flights that have been rescheduled.
This will more than likely happen more often with the living with Covid-19 plans and not wanting customers to be infected with an unknown virus. The reason this virus is unknown is due to how deadly this can be to some people and how easy it can be to others. Someone may get sent to hospital and others may have cold-like symptoms.
