Dominic Raab and other Ministers insist they will achieve their goal of 100,000 tests a day by the end of the month which is an increase of Monday’s levels of 82K.

Achieving this goal will hopefully stop most deaths caused by the virus as people on the front line are in more danger than others, unfortunately 15 social care workers have passed away due to COVID-19, the latest figures show 759 more deaths in hospitals across the United Kingdom bringing the total to a devastating 18,100.

Sir Keir has mentioned how the UK has been extremely slow and far too behind other European countries when it comes to testing COVID-19, he enquired how it’s possible that we went from 18,000 tests a day to 100,000 in just 8 days! He is confused as to why he hasn’t stopped hearing from the front line workers and care workers who are severely desperate for testing and asked why the Government haven’t been using all the tests that are available to them!

Antiviral drugs like Acyclovir usually used for treating chicken pox and herpes are being approached for investigation as they directly affect the ability to thrive inside the body, which is what COVID-19 is doing. Antiviral drugs have been used to treat Ebola but other options have proven to be more effective to the body.

Mr Raab when standing in for Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the government had a testing capacity of 40K a day based on them facts and the information from new laboratories the government would meet the targets set for testing but it would need a very big increase in the 7 days.

Sir keir had mentioned that the government were slow at responding to the companies and business that were offering their PPE for the front line services.
