Amy Dalla Mura, also known as “Based Amy,” has been jailed for 28 days for disrupting a lobby full of politicians, and calling Anna Soubry a “traitor”.

The official reason for imprisonment is for “harassment”, as Ms Soubry was apparently left “afraid” she might be targeted. During sentencing, Chief Magistrate said that the murder of MP Jo Cox has left MPs vulnerable, afraid, and living in fear they might be targeted too, and Mura’s intention to run for political positions showed her determination to “pursue” Soubry.

Amy Beth Dalla Mura gestures as she leaves Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

“You showed an obsession and fixation with Ms Soubry which has led to you bullying and intimidating, and harassing, this now ex-MP for Broxtowe”, she said.

“People like you stop ordinary decent people from becoming MPs. This damages democracy, because who would want to put up with this sort of harassment?”

Ms Soubry has said, “I was so fearful for my safety I wouldn’t travel on Tube and wouldn’t use public transport – I was in fear of my safety”, she said.

She added: “I was flinching if anyone was behind me, if anyone came up to me – I didn’t know who on earth they were. Remember, Jo Cox, one of my colleagues, had been murdered by a far right extremist with an obsession.”

The judge said at the time: “She knew she had done wrong and thought she had got away with it. Her behaviour when looked at together was upsetting and unacceptable. I am sure the defendant was involved in a course of behaviour that was intimidating.”
