It’s been 10 days since the single highest increase of Coronavirus deaths in the UK, and now we’re at half the deaths per day we were then.
It brings the total to 16,509, a 449 rise from yesterday. The 3% rise also includes fatalities from previous days which are only just being reported now. The victims were aged 40 to 101.
There has been controversy recently surrounding ethnical practices when concerned with the Coronavirus, for example countries have been banning people of black ethnicity from entering certain establishments. So for the first time, here are some stats regarding ethnicity:
As of 5pm April 17th, of the 13,100+ People who tested positive at the time of death, 73.6% were of white ethnicity, 16.2% were from BAME (Black, Asian and minority ethnic) backgrounds and 0.7% had mixed ethnicity.
