Scottish Championship 2020-21 Predictions

The Scottish Championship promotion race looks wide open this season with there being a case to be made for over half of the teams involved. The relegated pair of Hamilton & Kilmarnock will both fancy their chances at a quick return, while the newly-promoted Partick Thistle looks to be on the up. Add to this mix Dunfermline & Raith who were both in the playoffs last year and you can see the division is much of a muchness.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle was just outside the playoffs last year too and could be in the mix come season end. Given there are only ten teams in the division that’s a lot who will fancy their chances!

Kilmarnock will no doubt start as bookies favourites but as several historied teams have found this is a tricky division to get out of. However, we think they can do a Hearts and bounce straight back.

Relegation candidates

Morton stayed up last year the hard way, beating Airdrieonians in the promotion playoff. They look like a good bet to struggle again. Joining them could be Arbroath, who probably surprised themselves by finishing 7th last season. They were only a point above Morton though and they are our tip for the automatic relegation place.

That leaves Ayr United & Queen of The South looking over their shoulders and neither is by any means certain to avoid the drop.

Anyway here is how we see it panning out…
