Derby County has been in the mud the past year. Being bottom of the league for the majority of the season due to a points deduction, to now being relegated after almost making it through the season not being relegated! Rooney has his work cut out for him, however could this be what Derby needed?
Wayne Rooney was managed of Derby through it all and will more than likely continue to be the manager while they are in league 1! With a team like this, they should be aiming for Championship football after this season! A lot of coaches have said that Rooney may be better off in league 1 with Derby while he try’s to rebuild the team!

“He’s definitely made a name for himself as a man by sticking with them, If you have a chance to manage a club like Derby, you stick with it until something bigger comes along that you feel you can go in there and do a good job.” Said Parker!
“Managing in League One is tough – it’s a tough division. You are dealing with different kinds of managers who are really studious. It’s a difficult league to get out of. It will make him a better manger in that sense if he goes down there. In that division you need experience, but with young players he could really make a name for himself at Derby County if he sticks with them.”
Will Rooney be able to bring Derby back up after this season?
