EFL League Two 2021 -2022 Matchday 1 results

Newly promoted Sutton United who were making their Football League debut lost their opening game 2-1 at Forest green thanks to an injury-time goal. So no dream start for them but playoff winners Hartlepool United had a better day as they marked their return to the league with a 1-0 win over Crawley. A bumper crown of 5,184 witnessed Pools dominance finally rewarded with an 88th-minute winner. Crawley didn’t muster a shot on target!

The days most exciting game came at Harrogate, where Rochdale battled back from an early two-goal deficit, only to lose 3-2 to an injury-time winner. Sadly only 1841 people got to see what was an end to end game, with 31 shots at goal.
