Chorley FC

Chorley FC – The Magpies. They currently compete in the National League North the sixth tier of English football and play their home matches at Victory Park. The club was founded as a Rugby Union team in 1875 but switched from the oval ball in 1883. The club’s home colours are black and white stripes, hence the nickname the Magpies

Their best performance in the FA Cup was in 2020–21 when they reached the fourth round after a 2–0 win against Derby County in the third round. Their previous best was reaching round two in both 1986-7 & 1990-91. Their best performance in the FA Trophy was in 1995–96 when they reached the semi-finals.

In the 2019-20 season, Chorley reached the heady heights of the National League (tier 5). The season was cut short by Covid 19 and they finished bottom and were relegated back into the Conference North. However, this was still a magnificent achievement for a club of such modest resources.
