Luca is set with the beautiful back drop of an Italian island vaguely reminiscent of Positano. We find Luca a young merman at a turning point in his life with wishes of adventure. What Luca (voiced by Jacob Tremblay) finds is friendship, understanding, prejudice, loyalty, and love. He navigates a new freedom and in the true Disney and Pixar tradition we are shown life isn't fairy tale, but happy endings are possible.
A fantastic summer hit streaming on Disney Plus with Pixar comedy to appeal to all ages.

Luca is a watch for everyone in the family, the film shows what it is like to come from two different worlds and hear stories about one whilst living in another one. Throughout the film you are watching a friendship grow, as well as someone changing peoples views on humans and sea monsters. We watch a town go from fearing the people under the water to slowly accepting them and seeing that they aren’t bad after all, each world was led to believe these stories about each other from their ancestors.
Whilst watching the film it makes you think about real life and what it is like now and how you will hear different stories of the world and what each country has been threw and you start to make your own judgment off of what you learn. This film in a way shows that you can’t judge anyone or even anything by the stories you have heard and you should experience them yourself.
Luca hits on the side of friendship and what it can mean to everyone just having someone to share your dreams with as well as adventures, in the film Luca and Alberto have this dream of traveling and getting away from the things that are “holding them back” In my life I have experienced this as I’m sure a lot of people have where they feel like they are getting no where and they are stuck in the same place for the rest of there lifes, yet all it takes is for you to see who you have around you in your family and friends to see yes traveling sounds like the thing you are missing and will make your life feel lived, when in reality it is the people around you and the places that you call home that you will always remember on these adventures throughout your life.
All in all, I would recommend this film to anyone and I will be watching it again.
