Liam Hemsworth has filed for a divorce from Miley Cyrus after just seven months of marriage. The 29-year-old actor filed legal documents in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday and said the divorce is for “irreconcilable differences”.

Hemsworth has hired lawyer Laura Wasser to issue the divorce proceedings, the lawyer has clients such as Kim Kardashian and Ryan Reynolds.
The pair married in December 2018 after being on and off for years but it was not meant to last as on August 10th 2019 they announced their separation.
Hemsworth took to Instagram to let everyone who did not hear by the representatives that Miley and him had decided to split.
He wrote: “Hi all
Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward.
This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false.
Peace and Love.”

Hemsworth and Cyrus signed a prenuptial agreement ahead of their marriage so the divorce should be straightforward. The prenuptial agreement means that they will be entitled to keep their individual incomes earned during their marriage.
