Public health medieval towns

Kings and rulers were not interested in public health they focused more on fighting at this times. Clean water was in very short supply in towns and many houses were over populatated. Butchers killed animals in the town and left the scraps and waste on the streets. Cesepits were built near well so the water became contaminated and it was really expensive to get the waste removed from the water. There were no sewers in the towns so waste was thrown onto the streets . Pisspots were also thrown out of windows as toilet were not invented yet. Many people made money from sell dogey meat as many people became sick off this trade.

However monasteries knew about the dangers of dirt and diseases. They also had fresh water and herds gardens. Due to this they were able to drink, wash and cook and even brew herbal remedies to help with people sickness.
