These pack hunter fish are capable of death by 1,000 cuts. When the piranha are excited they attack in these large school like a pack of wolves. They are bloodthirsty and beady-eyed which attack on mass.

There are freshwater fish and because of a former US president, they became to be known as a vicious river monster. Former US president Theodore Roosevelt, visited the Amazon Basin back in 1913, where the local put on a show by tossing a live cow into a batch of starving piranhas within just a few minutes the blood bath was over and the cow skeleton floated to the surface.

They are located in the deepest parts of South America’s waterways from Venezuela to Argentina that is the most likely place to find the piranha. It has a bite force 30 times its own body weight. It’s has a jaw full of triangular teeth like razorblades, which are capable of slicing though skin and bone. They are able to smell blood from upto 3 kilometres away.

However it’s myth that piranhas seek out humans, there are actually 20 species of this fish and not all of them are meat eaters. The meat eating piranhas are most scavengers and prefer to go after something that is injured or already incapacitated in some way. So usually piranha don’t go after a healthy animal.

Piranhas have acute hearing and smell so they can detect prey in muddy waters. Some species of piranhas can make barking noises. Piranhas also make nests in muddy river banks where a female can lay up to 5,000 eggs at a time and a male with furiously defend it attacking anyone who comes close.
