Sand Fly

The sand fly are most active at dawn or dusk as they swam in there 100s, silent but deadly. They have a blood sucking bite and attack in mass. They can transmit a potentially deadly flesh-eating parasite. 

The parasite it transmits is called Leishmaniasis and it kills upto 20,000 people a year. This deadly parasite can also disfigure people. They are located throughout Latin America, they are comfortable in the tropics as they are in the mountains valley of the Andes. 

However not all sand fly carry this deadly parasite 21 out of the 30 species do carry out however.
