What’s Next for Lomachenko?

Now that Vasiliy Lomachenko is the WBC, WBA and WBO world lightweight champion, unbeaten since he won the WBO world lightweight title and seems to be unbeatable right now, what could possibly be next for the current unified world lightweight champion? He still has to get himself two more titles before he’s got every title in the lightweight division, he still has to get the, currently vacant, IBO title and the IBF which is currently owned by Richard Commey. Lomachenko has said he wants to get all the titles, so what’s next for the champion?

Since the IBO title is currently vacant, he could go up against the mandatory challenger for that title, the last time this title was up for grabs was on the 27th April 2019, with Robert Easter Jr and Rances Barthelemy going up against each other, however the bout ended as a draw, meaning the IBO title is still vacant, there could be another bout between these two fighters to see who will be crowd champion and Lomachenko will face the winner of the bout, or the IBO board will just make Lomachenko fight someone else for that belt to give him and someone else a chance to win the title.

The IBF title on the other hand, is held by Richard Commey, the last bout he had was against Raymundo Beltran for the title, which he won in the 8th round via KO, since the referee stopped the bout. The next fight could be Richard Commey vs Vasiliy Lomachenko for the IBF, WBA, WBO and WBC world lightweight championship. This could be a great main event for Eddie Hearn to promote since it’ll be a unification bout and will get more attention for that.

Which is more likely to happen?
