Nicola Adams Retains Title!

Nicola Adams Retains Title!

Nicola Adams has been in top form since becoming a professional fighter, she’s only had 6 fights and has not been defeated and has currently got the WBO world female flyweight championship. She has become an idol to a lot of people and fans around the world already and she still has a career ahead of her. She could become the next unified champion in the flyweight division and could end up having a great career. She has still got a lot of potential to become even better.

The two-time Olympic champion went up against Maria Salinas on the 27th September 2019, the fight lasted the whole 10 rounds and went the distance, however the fight ended up as a draw… an unconvincing draw. The decision was a split decision and the current champion is still Nicola Adams. The judges’ score cards were; 96-94 Salinas, 97-93 Adams and 95-95 draw. Meaning the bout was scored as a draw and Nicola will retain the title and keep it for another day. “I was a bit ring rusty – I haven’t boxed in a year, so it wasn’t my best performance, If she wants a rematch I’ll go again. “Adams said.

There will most likely be a rematch between the two fighters since this bout ended as a draw and Adams will be wanting to win the bout easy and be able to win most of her bouts convincingly. Adams will be wanting to become the unified world flyweight champion of the world. There is no deal between these two fighters yet, however their teams will be trying to get a rematch between the two fighters.
