In 2018, Tony Bellew made his return and his last appearance in the ring. Manchester Arena, packed full of fans and millions watching around the world, ready to fight and ready to see a fantastic sceptical. Tony Bellew was known for being a heavyweight and or crusierweights, however this time round he was 199lbs and was the favourite to win the fight after looking back at the fights he did previously, David Hayes… twice and beat him via TKO both times! This fight was going to see if Oleksandr Usyk is the man for the heavyweight division. Tony Bellew went into the fight and had the upper hand.
Once the fight started, Usyk was shocked with how good Bellew was, even though he was set to retire after this fight. Usyk was able to get inside sometimes but not enough to have an impact on the fight, but after a few rounds… Usyk was getting some great punches and some great impact punches. The fight was seeming to go the distance but in the 7th round… Usyk went for the KO and he managed to knockdown Bellew and then… the fight was over. Usyk beat the heavyweight and or crusierweight. Usyk then went into the heavyweight division to try and win the heavyweight champion of the world, Anthony Joshua and or Tyson Fury.
Oleksandr Usyk is now trying to become the heavyweight champion of the world, he is currently the mandatory champion and could be fighting Joshua in the near future, but Joshua will be fighting Pulve and Fury before fighting Usyk. Bellew has since retired but could be on the way to fighting Ruiz Jr, to prove that his fight against Joshua was a “fluck”, he most likely won’t return to the ring, however this would be a great return to the ring.
