The government have said all UK registered cars will need to display GB stickers in the Republic of Ireland after Brexit. The new government advice said the stickers must be displayed in any EU country.

Motorists from the UK driving in the Republic are currently advised to display the sticker however, the rule is not strongly enforced.  The advice applies to cars registered in all parts of the UK including Northern Ireland. The sticker must be displayed on the rear of the vehicle.

The sticker rule will still applied to any cars which already have the GB logo on their number plate.

If a sticker is not applied drivers will face a fine.

When you are also traveling abroad in a UK-registered vehicle you must also be carrying additional paperwork which proves you are the owner of that vehicle and have an international driving permit.
