At least five people have been killed by Hurricane Dorian as it continues to hit the region. Prime Minister Hubert Minnis said the deaths were confirmed at the north-eastern Abaco Islands. Around 13,000 houses are feared to be destroyed or damaged after the second strongest Atlantic hurricane on record.

Hurricane Dorian is still remaining  “extremely dangerous” and is currently grades as category three which means  “devastating damage will occur”.

Rescue crews will respond to calls for help as soon as the weather conditions are safe. Dorian is expected to stay in the same place until at least Tuesday morning local mine. It is expected to move close to the Florida east coast on Wednesday evening where it will then move towards Georgia and South Carolina into Thursday.

More than 1,300 flights have been cancelled within, to and from the US mostly due to Dorian. At least another 1,000 cancellations are expected on Tuesday.
