Sunshine is apparently on the agenda for this weekend, after a rather chilly and wet week so far.

There’s a heatwave seemingly passing through Europe, with hopes that it will come to the UK and restore the pleasant weather we’ve been having.

On Sunday, areas of the country the in south and Cornwall will experience even hotter conditions than expected for Saturday. The sorts of conditions to expect are temperatures of around 15°c, and low, weaker winds.

But, if you’re expecting the sort of heats we saw earlier this month, don’t get your hopes up for them to just be let down! Reports suggest yes, we will have nice weather, but, it won’t be as warm as it has been in recent weeks. The skies probably won’t be as clear and blue either!  Despite this, we have recently seen the driest April on record since 1938, with records showing around 14mm of rainfall for the whole month that year.

But with even Russia set to get their fair share of rain this weekend, there’s still hope yet for a warm weekend in lockdown!

BBC forecaster Phil Avery said: “Over the weekend, into the start of next, I think we’ll see a plume of heat gradually working its way up through Iberia, may even touch 30 degrees in some locations.

“And even begins to warm up in Moscow.”

But until then, be prepared to get a little more rain unfortunately!
