Lockdown had all of us bored – and because of this, many of us turned to video games and films as a way to keep occupied.

Many people continued to enjoy the new Call of Duty mode: Warzone, and many turned to Fifa 20 as a way of coping with football going away for a while.
Others watched ridiculous amounts of netflix, and, some people even used lockdown to better themselves and their fitness, but were not talking about that today. We’re talking about which shows and games brits enjoyed the most during lockdown.
According to new data compiled by the Entertainment Retailers Association, Fifa 20 was the best selling game in the UK throughout lockdown. Or at least between March 23rd and June 13th anyways. (Which was the main part of lockdown).
The official numbers go as follows: FIFA 20 sold 506,572 copies on all platforms, followed by Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare (the 2019 version) with 474,902.copies sold, and Grand Theft Auto V with 438,902 copies sold. It still amazes me how GTA 5 continues to sell – Rockstar games are really milking it dry aren’t they…
Surprisingly, Fifa couldn’t match the most bought film in the UK. Star Wars Episode 9 – The Rise of Skywalker sold a whopping 637,484 copies during lockdown, which was followed by the second most sold film, Frozen 2, with 541,783 copies sold.
The full list is below, accompanied by the number of units sold. Fun fact – an impressive 21 of the most sold entertainment titles were games, showing that video games were in fact a big part of UK residents lives during lockdown.
